This is a blog and review site for one of my favorite type of gadgets, the Backup Camera system and the reverse parking sensor (RPS) .
Having been a deliveryman -cum- field technician for over ten years and had my share of backing an inordinately large van into ridiculously small spaces this is one gadget that I came to deeply appreciate!
After moving to car loving America I was struck by the apparent scarcity of these things on many vehicles in my local area. My curiosity was sparked and so I began to see what was what here in the USA. I have been both surprised and amused with the choices so far.
I’m somewhat over fourty years old (you have to guess!) and enjoy all forms of technology, and while I await the USA govenment to process my green card I am at last finding ther time to do what I like the best – writing.
I hope you’ll find the stuff here in BCS funny informative and of general use. In all seriousness these little gadgets are a worthwhile addition to any vehicle not just RV’s as most folks seem to think here in the USA.
To my fellow Brits back in the old country, I hope you’ll get some pleasure and good info as well. While it seems Backup camera systems are harder to come by in the UK, parking sensors are easier and of better quality. Don’t assume you have to make do with the cheapo one that came as standard with you car, there is better and more useful out there for less than you think. I hope to be able to track some of these goodies down and give a bit of a review of their technical details as I go along
For over twelve years I worked for Wilkinsons of Norwich tea and coffee merchant as their house technician. And occasionally consult with the old firms USA branch in Brewton Alabama. I now live in Georgia with my wife and step children and assorted pets and housemates and “others” that come by in a pleasant blur most weekends.

If you want simple and easy to install this is the sort of thing you want to have. RV's and caravans are great for holiday trips out, but can be a bit of a pig to get set, and an inexpensive system like this is ideal for the occasional vacationer.

A decent fourway sensor system, the added bonus of having a visual guide right where you can see it is great. Most suitable as a retro fit for a Mini van sized family car, where you have significant blind spots caused bu the shape of the rear of your vehicle. With this system installed you can hear and see immediately if anything is getting dangerously close to you.
A great camera for the RV or larger vehicle. It features include night vision capability and the option of attaching two more video sources (either other cameras or maybe a DVD player etc) A wider angle camera and a large screen allows you to see in detail whatever is behind you.
A wonderfully innovative device from the UK. No drilling into your bumper; a wider angle of detection than most other sensors and sensitivity allowing for tighter maneuvering than most other sensors. A bargain indeed!
